Mid fired, Off-white burning, Smooth, Medium plastic, Vitreous, Porcelain, Throwing clay body

Description

P300 is a kaolin-based porcelain for mid-temperature work, and one of the whitest bodies we make.

Plasticity is excellent for a porcelain – many potters rate it at or above M370 – and the pugged clay has a distinct feel that many prefer.

Two things to know before you start: P300 is not translucent at cone 6, and its fired shrinkage is high, 7.0–8.0% at cone 6.

Specifications

Every figure is a measured range from the Plainsman lab, not a single nominal number. Cone equivalents are Orton self-supporting cones at 108 °F/hr.
