VL-Lite Pottery Wheel

The VL-Lite is the wheel to reach for when the wheel has to move. At 23 kg (51 lb) one person can carry it to a demo, a class or the back of a car, and it sets up anywhere with a wall socket. A 100 W motor turns the 305 mm (12 in) head through a belt that takes up its own slack, so there is nothing to adjust as it wears, and the controller holds the speed you set from 0 to 250 rpm as the clay loads up. It takes up to 11 kg (25 lb) of clay, which covers most functional ware and all of a beginner's early work. The head turns either way for left or right handed throwing, the foot pedal is on a cable so it goes wherever your foot is, and a breaker in the body trips before the motor can be overloaded.
