Draw on bisque ware, then blend and soften the colour with a finger or a cotton swab. Sharpen a crayon for fine detail, brush water over a drawing for a watercolour look, or dissolve the crayon in water to paint or spray it. Black, brown, dark blue, dark green and white hold colour to cone 10, turquoise and yellow to cone 5, and rose to cone 05. Cover the finished work with a clear glaze before it is used for food.
