Wrap a slab of clay around one end, press the edges together and smooth the seam. Let it stiffen, slide it off, then cut and fit the spout to your teapot. The two ends give two spout shapes, a short classic taper and a longer one, in the small size. It is solid beech, hand sanded and finished with tung oil to resist water and mould. It also makes feet and decorative cones.
