White Star Low Temp Slip

White Star Casting Slip is a ready mixed white casting body for the low fire range, poured straight from the container into plaster moulds. It fires white and stays porous.

Suggested retail price. In-store prices and availability may vary by location.

White Star Casting Slip comes mixed and deflocculated, so nothing needs to be added before pouring, although it would be best to mix before using. A deflocculated slip pours freely while still being mostly clay by weight, and with less water in the mix there is less shrinkage on the way to dry. The firing range is cone 06 to 04, and the fired colour is white in oxidation. The fired body stays open and porous, so cast work is glazed for use. Left standing for a long time, the particles settle into a firm layer at the bottom of the container, so it is stirred well before use.

  • A ready mixed white casting body for the cone 06 to 04 range
  • Deflocculated, so it pours at a high clay content and shrinks less
  • White firing in oxidation, and porous after firing
  • Settles into a firm layer if left standing, so it is stirred before use
