Sea Turtles Hand Roller

The Sea Turtles design shows turtles swimming among sea grass, a detailed picture pattern for slabs and the walls of thrown work. MKM carves each hand roller from hardwood and finishes it with tung oil. It is 10 cm (4 in) long and about 1.5 cm (5/8 in) across, small and light enough to roll up the wall of a thrown piece as well as across a slab. The ends are rounded, so passes laid side by side blend without a line between them, and the bevelled edges lift away from the clay cleanly without a release agent. Roll once with even pressure on soft clay. Clean it with water and a soft toothbrush.
