The RK-Whisper puts the same brushless direct drive motor as the VL-Whisper into a lower, more compact body with a 305 mm (12 in) head. There is no belt, so it runs as quietly as the big wheel, and the head settles when you ease off instead of coasting on. Speed is set two ways, with a lever on the body or the foot pedal built into the frame, so it suits a potter seated at a table as well as one standing at a bench. It takes up to 45 kg (100 lb) of clay, and once a speed is set it stays there while both hands are on the clay. The head runs in either direction for left or right handed throwing, and the cast alloy head is drilled for bat pins. Body 508 × 533 × 508 mm (20 × 21 × 20 in), 53 kg (116 lb). Runs on 115 V, 60 Hz.
