Quark call this Wireless Speed Control, and the useful part is the absence of a cable: the pedal sits wherever your foot naturally falls rather than where the lead reaches, and there is nothing on the floor to catch a bucket on. It answers a tap instead of a held-down press, and the tap sensitivity adjusts, so it can be set to respond to a light touch or to ignore everything but a firm one - worth setting deliberately if you tend to rest a foot on the pedal. Wireless range 3 m (9.8 ft), powered by a 9 V battery with about 400 hours of life. Five-year warranty.
