PTM50 is the 6 mm (1/4 in) triangle in Kemper's PRO-LINE "M" range, the smallest heads in the line, for detail trimming and carving. PRO-LINE tools pair a select hardwood handle with a loop of knife-quality high carbon steel that has been heat treated and quenched in oil. Carbon steel takes a sharper edge than stainless and holds it longer, even in heavily grogged clay or plaster, but it will rust if it is put away wet. The loop is held by a brass ferrule set in industrial adhesive and the handle is sealed in an oil-resin bath to keep water out. The 6 mm (1/4 in) head decides how much you take per pass and how tight a curve it will follow. Dry it after use and give the blade and handle a light oil now and then. It can be resharpened on an oil or water stone. Keep it off a power grinder, which would draw the temper.
