A half round kiln shelf 533 mm (21 in) across and 19 mm (3/4 in) thick. Two halves sit side by side to make a full layer, and each half is lighter and easier to load than a full round. Set each half on its own three posts and leave a small gap between the halves so heat moves evenly. Kiln wash the top face before use so glaze drips can be chipped off, and leave the underside bare.
