A half round kiln shelf 394 mm (15.5 in) across and 16 mm (5/8 in) thick. Two halves sit side by side to make a full layer, and each half is lighter and easier to load than a full round. Set each half on its own three posts and leave a small gap between the halves so heat moves evenly. Kiln wash the top face before use so glaze drips can be chipped off, and leave the underside bare.
