Kanthal is an iron chromium aluminium alloy made to hold its strength at kiln temperatures where ordinary wire would sag or burn away. Potters use it to make element pins, to hang beads and pendants for glaze firing, and to support pieces during a firing. Cut it with heavy wire cutters and bend it with pliers. Sold by the metre, cut from the roll.
