Ferro Frit 3110
Frit 3110 is a sodium borosilicate frit, high in soda. A frit is a glass that has been melted and ground back to powder, so fluxes that would dissolve in the glaze water stay in the glaze. This one raises thermal expansion a long way.

Frit 3110 is high in soda and low in alumina, and it raises thermal expansion a long way. If used as the main flux in a functional glaze it will craze, so it is known as the crackle frit, and it is also the frit to add when a glaze is shivering. The low alumina suits zinc crystalline glazes, and the high alkali suits copper turquoises. It fuses around 760°C, which is low enough for a glaze to seal over and trap bubbles before the body underneath has finished giving off gas. It is slightly soluble, so a bucket left standing for months can form a precipitate.
