The Andromeda DD03 couples the motor straight to the wheel head, so there is no belt to slip, stretch or replace, and the torque comes through evenly from a crawl up to 300 rpm. BTH rates the motor at 1100 W maximum input, 1.18 hp, with 28 N·m of torque, and lists a maximum load of 60 kg (132 lb) of clay on the 352 mm (14 in) head. Slow speeds stay steady for trimming and detail work. The two piece splash pan locks together magnetically and lifts off for cleaning. The legs adjust so the wheel head sits anywhere from 355 to 580 mm (14 to 23 in) off the floor, for throwing seated or standing. The head reverses for left or right handed throwing, and BTH lists running noise at 40 dB. Body 725 × 640 mm (28.5 × 25.2 in), 37 kg (82 lb). Runs on 110 V, 60 Hz. BTH recommends this model for professional studios, university programs and potters working with larger loads of clay.
