Golden Honey PC-68 Potter’s Choice Glaze

Apply 3 brush coats. Do not thin the glaze. This colour is food safe. Potter's Choice is a cone 5/6 glaze made to give the look of a reduction firing in an electric kiln. These glazes move as they fire. They break where they run thin over an edge or a carved line and float a second colour to the surface, which is why they show best on textured work. The line is also made for layering over a Celadon, a Satin Matte or another Potter's Choice colour. Two coats over two works for one Potter's Choice over another, and three over three when a Celadon or a Shino is underneath. If the glaze underneath is a fluid one the layered result can run. On its own it takes 3 to 4 brush coats over cone 04 bisque, with each coat left to dry before the next, and a medium-speed firing to cone 5 or 6, 1186 to 1222°C. The clay body changes the result too, so the same glaze will not fire the same over a buff body as it does over a dark one. Fire a test tile with each new batch.
